Willie Mae (Alexander) Luster

Willie Mae Luster was born August 13, 1917 at Willis, Texas to parents, Felix and Lizzie (Watkins) Alexander. She died Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at her home in Hermiston, Oregon at the age of 94.

She was raised in Willis and moved to Seattle, Washington in 1944 and worked for Boeing. In 1948 she moved to Pasco, Washington and to Hermiston in 1952. She worked for Baggett Turkey Farm and at Lamb Weston before retiring. On August 13, 1978 she married Rev. Greenwood Luster in Hermiston. Willie Mae was a member of the Church of God on Cherry Street. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, and cooking. The family would like to thank Dr. Stewart Swena and Karla Thomas of Vange John Hospice for their care of Willie Mae.

She is survived by her Daughter, Nora and husband Lonnie Colbray Sr. of Hermiston; Sister, Diane Minniefield of Houston, TX; 8 Grandchildren, Jackie Linton of Hermiston, Leroy Colbray of Hermiston, Tony Colbray Sr. of Pasco, WA, Dean Colbray Sr. of Anchorage, AK, Jennie Greene of Salem, OR, Denise Colbray of Tacoma, WA, Lonnie Colbray Jr. of Hermiston, and David Colbray of Hermiston; 22 Great-grandchildren; 17 Great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by Husband, Greenwood Luster in 2010; Brothers, J.V. Scott and Robert Lee Johnson; Sister, Nora Young; Great-grandson, Ronnie Gayles Jr..

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Burns Mortuary Chapel in Hermiston. Burial will follow at the Hermiston Cemetery.
