Clayton "Gene" Goodwin

Clayton Eugene “Gene” Goodwin was born on September 21, 1940 in Cedar County, Missouri to parents, Jesse and Eleanor Dudley Goodwin. He died on April 28, 2016 at his home in Hermiston, Oregon at the age of 75 years. Gene was raised in Cedar County, Missouri and then moved to Gilmer, Washington at the age of 18. and worked in the orchards. He married Gladys Marie Rogers on October 19, 1961 in Gilmer, Washington. They moved to Trout Lake, WA and then to Hermiston, Oregon in 1973 where he has lived since. Gene worked for the Hermiston School District for 25 years before retiring in 1998. He enjoyed rving and snowmobiling in the early years.

He is survived by his brothers: James Goodwin & wife Margaret, Hermiston, OR and Curtis Goodwin & wife Marcelle, White Salmon, WA; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Gene was preceded in death by his wife Gladys and his parents.    

A celebration gathering will be held on Monday, May 9, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Burns Mortuary Chapel, Hermiston, Oregon.

Private burial will be in Hood River, Oregon.
