Wanda and I were each others' first and longest lasting friendship. (With the exception naturally of her immediate family). After 58 years, it is so hard to not be able to pick up the phone to tell her the latest news, or check on her to see how she is feeling. Wanda was an exceptional person in every regard. I remember her being in horrible pain with the diabetes when she was just a small child. But, somehow, she always rose above all the pain and suffering, insisting that she was fine, and trying to make sure that everyone else was alright. We had a whole list of things we did as children together that was ours alone. Somehow, though, I'm pretty sure she shared special moments with each and everyone of her friends. She spoke so fondly of most of you. So I feel like I almost know each of you. Wanda would now say, "Scary, isn't it?" :-) She always had a laugh to share. I wish for each of you the peace of knowing that she is no longer in pain, and that God has her flitting here and there exploring all of his wonders! And I know she wasted no time getting to her mother, grandmother and Christopher! Howard, Butch and Marshall, our love and condolences go out to you, too. I know Wanda appreciated all of the love and care you gave her through the years. No doubt she is radiant with God's blessings and is smiling down upon us.

A fellow classmate at La Grande High School, Wanda is remembered for her kindness and smile. I was able to reconnect with her over Facebook but her health had taken a toll on her. I pray that she is now dancing in heaven and rejoicing to be in a better place! May her family feel peace and be able to continue on in this world knowing they will meet up with Wanda again.
