Jack! I knew his parents, Vic and Bert AND his Grandma and Grandpa.. They were next door neighbors of mine on Mayger Road, Rainier, Oregon. His Grandpa had dementia and would wait for our schoolbus to take a ride. Our old schoolbus driver, Clint Anderson, would take him around the bus route and return him safely to his driveway again and he would be happy. Vic was my "Auntie Vic", my mother's high school "chum", and the girls, Lula Mae and Eleanor Anne were sometimes my baby-sitters. I now live in Reno, Nevada in the High Desert, a far cry from "Rainy Rainier", Oregon. How I miss the Good Ol' Days of the 1940's and the memories of the "Slug Trail". (Only the Van Swolls would know what that is! ) Sleep in Peace, "Jack".
