I met Joanne, “Sis” Ramos Harris when we were teenagers at the tennis court in Echo, Oregon years ago. Then after many years we met while we were both attending college at EOCE in La Grande, Oregon and were thrilled to find out we were both destined to become teachers which was our life long dream. We met again years later at Pendleton District 16 R both teaching Second Grade. We were representing our respective schools. working with a textbook adoption committee to select a new reading series for grades 1-6.
She was a very professional teacher who was dedicated to her work in that she made all students feel successful and special. That contributed to her being a wonderful teacher with excellent instructional and management skills that met most all the needs of every child in her classroom,
We send our sympathy and love to the family, and we are so sorry for your loss of a very special loved one.
She may be gone but never forgotten and will always remain in our hearts.

I will miss those days of you teaching me to pull weeds at the ranch, and the sound of your loud booming laugh that was always so uplifting and genuine. I loved you so!

Bless all the family. We lost a truly inspirational person who could melt the heart of anyone. I know you are looking down at us right now wanting us to laugh and not cry.

Joanne Harris (Mrs. Harris) was my favorite teacher. I had her for 5th grade many years ago! Even after I was done with 5th grade, I always went back and visited her on conference days and brought her a Pepsi! She was a very special teacher and gave me the nickname "Kimmers". I always think of her when someone calls me that. Loved this lady! Condolences to the family. Kim

I am so sorry for your loss as she was a very dear friend that was always happy to see me and visit as long as i was able to stay. I delivered propane to Joanne for years for PGG. I did get to see her in Tri Cities right after she had her stroke. I will miss this sweetheart dearly. Love to all the family Curt
