We will miss you Watermelon Man! Telling stories and hanging out with you your wife Barbara and the Davis's here in Randle,Wa. We truly hope the family will continue the tradition of Memorial and Labor Day. We will miss you Roger but we know you had to go. Till we meet again we celebrate your life through each other. Godspeed! They (Whoever They is ) say you meet people in your life for a reason. Well I may not have entirely figured out the why for this one, when I do I will share if you wish. Please keep in touch! I know after loosing 6 family and friends in 2 years at one point in my life how it can weigh on you. " My candle burns at both ends it will not last the night ,but oh my foes and ahh my friends it gives a lovely light!"

Roger you will be missed by all who knew you. I didn't know you very long, but
it didn't take long to know you were a true friend. You left us too soon, but maybe
God has other plans for you, a bend in your path

Sorry to see you go away so soon "OLD MAN". We had some great times working together. Even though I called you HONEY once & said DAMMIT ROGER more than once, you were a very special friend to have. I'm damn lucky our paths crossed. Goodbye old friend.

What a shock to learn of Roger's passing; I am so grateful I was able to chat with him just a week prior. As a young girl I would get so embarrassed by Roger calling me "Darlin'" when I saw him at my dad's shop, or around town. But as an adult, it was simply something I came to expect and will now cherish. My deepest condolences to the Martin family.

Barbara, Roger will be sorely missed. He was my gentle friend who saved not only my life with his quick response to avoid a cow from trampling me but also my dog Oscar from the Feed Lot 'chopper'! He was such a great help to Gene & I on the farm and a very good and faithful friend. God bless you all with joy and peace as you celebrate Rogers life.
