Frank N. Brown of Hermiston, Oregon, was born on December 30, 1927 in Maryland to parents, Dilver and Stella Payne Brown. He died on March 17, 2017 in Richland, Washington at the age of 89 years. He served in the United States Army Air Corps as a fireman in the Philippines during WWII until his honorable discharge. Frank was united in marriage to Betty R. Hodge on June 1, 1947. They moved their family from Virginia to Hermiston, Oregon in August of 1961 where he has lived since. Frank worked for Stewart’s Market for many years working as a cashier, stocking the shelves, in maintenance or anywhere he was needed. He later worked for IGA for several years. Frank enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, cutting firewood, mounting antlers for friends and family, and going for drives in the mountains. He cherished the time he was able to spend with his family, passing the love of the outdoors onto them. Frank was always there to help his children and lend a hand to help anyone wherever he could. He was recognized earlier this year in an EO article, “who at the age of 89 was out with his tractor clearing everyone’s driveways.” Frank made many friends over the years with many of the farmers and ranchers on Big and Little Buttercreek. He would often stop by and share stories and a Mt Dew with them. Frank was very thankful and considered himself very rich that the Lord blessed him with such a wonderful family.

He is survived by his children: Tom & wife Kristy, Larry & wife Sharon, Danny & wife Cathy, Darlene & husband Matt, Susan & husband Jim, and Carolyn; sister: Marylou Davis; brothers: Maynard, Dale, & Duane Brown; grandchildren: Darci, Jeromie, Dwayne, Jessica, Maranda, Katie, Nikkie, & Justin; numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Frank was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, grandchildren: Ketra, Rebecca, & Rob; a great granddaughter: Kara; a sister: Edith Blankenship, and a brothers: Merle Brown and Lavone Brown.
