There are some people that are liked by everyone from the moment you meet them. Bernie is one of those special people. I met Bernie the first week I came to Hermiston in 1979 through Kiwanis. We immediately connected through our love of OSU and I have enjoyed our friendship since then. There is not a nicer, kinder or more considerate person then Bernie. Our deepest condolences to Kathy and their family.

Dear Carper Family,
That was a lovely service for Bernie. I thought Craig did an excellent job, and so did Sherm for the Masons, and someone else reminded me that it was such a privilege
to have been able to stay in his own home until the end. That resonated for me as Keny spent 4 long years in a care facility. Many of will miss Bernie. Blessings!

Having just moved to Hermiston in 1975, I can still remember Bernie personally taking time out to welcome us and introduce himself as our pharmicist. Our family continued to use his services until the store closed. He was always very kind and helpful. You may lose touch as the years go by but you neve forget people like him.

I came to know Mr Carper Bernie as he was my Gram & Gramp Howard & Hazel Bonney friends & church family as our's when we came here many yrs ago from Massachusetts.. So sorry to hear of Bernie's passing. It is so hard to deal with the loss of a longtime friend and professional such as Bernie. I fondly recollect the many times Bernie helped me out as a relief pharmacist at Boardman Pharmacy. Time is so precious and it was a godsend to have Bernie fill in for me and my patients. My thoughts are with you and the family during this sad time. God bless you Bernie!!!
