Hearing that Alice has left this life was so sad. She was a great friend at Mayville State. Her sense of humor and her quiet, succint way of saying things left us in stitches so often. She was always so dignified--even while making us laugh--and was a wonderful presence in college. Her Christmas letters were hilarious and I could almost picture some of the predicaments she described at her home, especially those involving Dick. Even though we had lost touch I will remember her as a dear, dear person. I mourn with you.

I have known my dear Mrs. Alexander (Alice) since I was 7-years of age - I am now pushing 60! She was Miss McCann when I first met her. I will miss my birthday cards from her, and her wonderful Christmas letters with personal notes to me. Mr. Alexander and I shared the same birthday date, and was shocked at his sudden death. I have gotten to know a bit about her three daughters through correspondence, the happy and the sad, with the loss of Mr. Alexander and Alexis. She was a wonderful friend and mentor through many miles apart. God Bless her. I will miss her always.

Alice was a great friend and shall be missed by many including myself. When my wife died in 2006, Alice sought to calm my grief since she had taught grief recovery as a part of Hospice. She was involved with me in the Methodist Church's 2007 centennial celebration having orchestrated what she referred to as the "Dave Letterman Show". That show depicted life as it might have been in Hermiston some 100 years past. We also jointly decorated the church's bulletin board and put up pictures of the congregation. She was always full of ideas concerning the welfare of the church and its parishioners. She shall be missed especially in that last seat on the left side of the church where she sat close to a window that she could open in case she needed to cool down.

Thank you Dave, I appreciated reading this. I remember you as I grew up in church. The UMC did such a nice job with the service, I really appreciated it.
