Jewell A (Townsend) Faulstich

Jewell A. Faulstich was born on April 30, 1925 in Elgin, Oregon to parents, Wesley and Cecile McIntyre Townsend. She died on August 20, 2016 at her home in Hermiston, Oregon at the age of 91 years. Jewell was raised in Elgin before the family moved to Hermiston, Oregon where she graduated in 1943. She was united in marriage to Clarence “Ed” Faulstich on March 1, 1944 in Pasco, Washington. They settled in Hermiston, Oregon in 1946 where she has lived since. She lived just down the road from her sister/best friend for most of those years. She was a stay at home Mom for most of her years which allowed her to spend quality time with her family. She cherished time with her children and grandchildren baking in the kitchen, camping, fishing, playing cards, board games, sledding, and making her delicious homemade ice cream. Jewell also enjoyed gardening, sewing, and crocheting. She was a longtime active member of the First Christian Church in Hermiston, Oregon, member of the grange, and was a supporter of 4-H and had many entries in the Umatilla County Fair over the years.

She is survived by her daughter: Joyce Faulstich, Hermiston, OR; son: Eddie Faulstich, Hermiston, OR; brothers: Malcolm Townsend, Baker City, OR, and Adrian Townsend, Pullman,WA; grandchildren: Paul, Susan, Dena, Jeffrey, & Christina; 13 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson; several nieces and nephews.

Jewell was preceded in death by her husband: Ed Faulstich, son: Steve Faulstich, grandson: Christian James Wolverton, her parents, sister: Wanda DeMoss, brothers: Miles, Jasper, & Arleigh.
  
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at the Hermiston Cemetery, Hermiston, Oregon.
