Yvonne Shaw Obituary

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Yvonne Shaw, age 84, of Colfax, Washington.  She passed away on December 25, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loved ones, following several years of health-related issues.  The funeral will be a private grave side ceremony on Friday, December 27, 2024 at the Hermiston Cemetery in Hermiston, Oregon with family and close friends.  
Yvonne was born on March 24, 1940 in Comanche County, Texas to Homer Clifton Perdue and Ola “June” Anderson.  When Yvonne was in the eighth grade they moved to Kingsburg, Fresno County, California where she graduated from high school.  Yvonne married Herbert “Herb” Westly Shaw on March 18, 1959 in Reno, Washoe, Nevada.  They had two children.
Yvonne and Herb lived in multiple places in California and Oregon throughout their married life.  They also lived in Florida for a short while when they retired.  Yvonne worked at various jobs throughout her life, but the ones she loved the most was driving school bus and being a long-haul trucker.  She could tell you how to get to any place you wanted to go and what roads were the best ones to take.  She had a great memory of her travels and shared her experiences with anyone who would listen.  We loved to hear her tell  her stories!  She enjoyed being on the beach, visiting with family, her flower gardens and making quilts for loved ones and friends.  She also enjoyed making lap quilts for the local McDonald’s House, Disabled Veterans, and baby quilts distributed by her church.

She is preceded in death by both her parents, two infant brothers who died shortly after birth, and her beloved husband Herb of 54 years. 

She is survived by her son Clifton “Brent” (Fedelina) Shaw of Colfax, Washington, and daughter Susan “Michelle” Shaw.  Grandchildren – J Jon (Pam) Shaw, Colorado; Brent J (Dana) Shaw, Washington; Jennifer M Shaw, Oregon; Jocelyn (Geoff) Sweet, Florida; Daelyn Hogan. Great grandchildren – Rami (Anthony) Underwood; Laci Wiggins; Garrett Wiggins; Kyra (Chase) Becker; Simone Shaw; Megan Shaw; Jacob Shaw; Ethan Shaw; Yvonne “Evie” Sweet; Paige Sweet.  Great-Great Grandson Jayce Warren.
