William "Bill" Starke Jr

William C. Bill” Starke Jr was born on November 21, 1941 in Berkeley, California to parents, William Chris Starke Sr and Mildred Carol Harrington Starke. He died on November 17, 2020 at his home in Irrigon, Oregon at the age of 78 years. Bill served in the Air Force and the Army until his honorable discharge. He did many things throughout his life, with most of the years as an iron worker with Local 29 in Portland, Oregon. Bill had 3 sons with his wife Carmen: William III, Murry and Robert. He married Linanne Christensen on March 31, 1979 and helped to raise her four children: Renee, Chris, Ray and Jeff along with his sons. His last job was owning and operating B&L Concrete Pumping service with his wife. He retired after 10 years and continued living in the home he built in Irrigon, Oregon in 1978. He was a very good welder and carpenter and was a wonderful husband and father. “We will miss you Bill but, we know you are in heaven with God and your family.” Bill loved the Lord and went to Arlington Church of the Nazarene for many years. He enjoyed bicycling, 4-wheeling, camping and traveling.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years: Lin Starke; his children, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and all 5 of his brothers.     

A private family military burial was held at Desert Lawn Memorial Cemetery, Irrigon, Oregon.
