William "Bill" Mallory Obituary

William R. “Bill” Mallory of Hermiston, Oregon, was born on November 29, 1941 in Perry, Oklahoma to parents, George and Leila (Cobb) Mallory. He died on December 6, 2022 in Hermiston, Oregon at the age of 81 years. His family moved from Oklahoma to Portland, Oregon in 1947. Bill attended Hosford Grade School and graduated from Cleveland High School in the class of 1960. He served in the United States Navy from 1960 until his honorable discharge in 1962. Bill worked for Hyster Co for 20 years. He was united in marriage to Kathleen Evans on September 4, 1964 in Portland, Oregon. They moved to Hermiston, Oregon in 1988 where Bill worked for Eastern Oregon Fast Freight and U.S.F. Reddaway. He enjoyed camping, traveling, cooking and was an avid Oklahoma Sooner Fan.
“If your born a Sooner, you die a Sooner”. Bill was an active member of the Hermiston Masonic Lodge # 183, the Scottish Rite and Grace and Mercy Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife Kathie Mallory, Hermiston, OR; daughter: Michele Rene Davidson & her husband John, Portland, OR; son: Michael Patrick Mallory & his wife Jeanna, Hermiston, OR; brothers: James Mallory, Portland, OR, Robert Mallory, Clatskanie, OR; grandchildren: Brittney, Derrek, Brooke & Katie;  great grandchildren: Ander, Adam, Harper & Manny; numerous nieces and nephews.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, George Mallory. 

A celebration of life service with military honors will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at Burns Mortuary Chapel, Hermiston, Oregon.

In lieu of flowers please make contributions in Bill's memory to Grace and Mercy Lutheran Church at P.O. Box 1108, Hermiston, OR 97838, or Shriners Hospital For Children or Jt. Jude's Hospital.
