Sally Peatow Cromer of Hermiston, Oregon, was born in Milwaukee Wisconsin on April 19, 1945 to Harvey and Esther Reichart (Siegmund). She passed away on January 10, 2026 in Vancouver, Washington at the age of 80 years. Sally attended Milwaukee Lutheran High School. She graduated from nursing school in 1967. As a nurse, she worked in Wisconsin, Utah, Idaho, and Oregon and served in many different departments and roles. She stayed in nursing her entire career, eventually serving in many positions at Good Shepherd Hospital in Hermiston.
Sally was a founding member of the Soroptimists International of Greater Hermiston Area. She was inspired by its mission to improve the lives of women and girls and was always excited by the annual Live Your Dream Award scholarship. In addition to volunteering with Soroptimists, she had been an active volunteer with Domestic Violence Services and Senior Health Insurance Benefits Assistance program.
Throughout her life, Sally’s Christian faith brought her comfort and community. As a child, her family car didn’t have a radio so her family sang church hymns on road trips. She was an example of God’s love through the ways she loved, welcomed, and accepted others.
She is survived by her four children from her marriage to Anton Peatow: Angela; Aaron (Mimi); Rachel; and Rebecca (Cedar); and her grandchildren Liam; Ethan; Emma; Gavin; Anne; and Jude; and also her great-granddaughter Arya. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Esther; her sister, Sue; her husband, Ken; and her son-in-law, Lenn.
A memorial service will be held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 515 SW 7th St. Hermiston, Oregon, on Saturday January 24, 2026 at 3:00pm.
