Roy S. Springer of Hermiston, Oregon, was born on May 27, 1948 in Bainbridge, Washington. He died on January 19, 2025 in Richland, Washington at the age of 76 years. Roy grew up on the Island and loved the freedom of exploring and the education he gained. He was curious by nature and loved to learn. Roy was a true craftsman. He was creative and could build anything. Roy married Kathleen “Kathy” Hunter in Boise, Idaho. They resided in Hermiston, Oregon since the mid 1990's and Roy served as manager of Lumberman’s until retiring in 2015. Roy was a devoted caregiver to Kathy who preceded him in death in 2022. He was a former member of the Eagles Lodge. Roy enjoyed sailing, woodworking, building model boats, traveling and annual trips to the coast.
He is survived by his half brother: Charles; step children: Dan (Amy) Worthington, Cedar Hills, UT, Jo Ann (Vance) Mauch, Orem, UT, Rod (Dawn) Worthington, Soda Springs, ID & Scott Worthington, Idaho Falls, ID; 14 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren.
Roy was preceded in death by his wife and his parents.
A graveside service in Idaho will be announced at a later date.
