Richard Lee Patrick of Hermiston was born July 16, 1946 in Olympia, Washington the son of Leon and Georgia (Hampton) Patrick. He passed away in Hermiston on March 16, 2025 at the age of 78.
After graduating from high school, Richard joined the US Army where he served for three tours in Vietnam during his twelve years of service. He moved to Oregon in 1972 and settled in the Hermiston area in 1980. He worked as a long haul truck driver for the Walmart distribution center in Hermiston for over twenty years.
Richard was a lifelong avid fisherman and he enjoyed playing Texas Hold em poker. He was a member of the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Group and the American Legion Post #37 in Hermiston.
Richard married Joy Stoddard in the late 1990's in Winnemucca, NV.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joy; son, Kevin and two brothers, Thomas and Robin.
He is survived by six children; Richard B. Patrick, Tamara Patrick-Mercado, Mark Patrick, Michelle Bergener, Monica Patrick and stepdaughter, Teresa; brothers, Howard, John and Paul; sisters, Candace, Cyndie and Glynda; 19 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren; and numerous extended family members.
A Graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday March 22, 2025 at the Hermiston Cemetery. Burns Mortuary of Hermiston is in care of arrangements.
Family suggest memorial donations in Richards memory be made to ALS or Pancreatic Cancer.
