Regie Harold Horn
June 12, 1949 – March 11, 2023
Regie was born in Lebanon, Oregon and has lived all around the state in his youth. Graduating from Elgin and then moved to Klamath Falls for college where he played football. After some time in college, Regie signed on and served in the US Army. The highlight of his military career came while stationed in Alaska as a Sergeant, Regie guided a hunt for W.C. Westmoreland General, United States Army Chief of Staff in 1970. Regie and former spouse Regina Smith married in 1969, together they had children Tammi, Tondra, and Jennifer.
Upon his return from the Army, he worked as a patrolman for Oregon State Police in Salem. He also worked in the logging industry in the Grande Ronde Valley until a life-altering accident in a skidder. Back in Eastern Oregon, Regie re-married to Tina Fritts, adding Alicia and Brian to his family. Regie owned a custom alfalfa operation for many years and then later returned to his roots in law enforcement working for the Department of Corrections at EOCI for 13 years before his retirement.
An avid outdoorsman, Regie loved being in the mountains. Over the years, he hunted with his hound dogs, spent winters being a trapper and enjoyed all types of hunting and fishing. Once and a while you could find him being social at a local card game. Upon retirement, Regie moved to Cascade, Idaho to live in the mountains which he revered. While in retirement, he enjoyed woodworking and making custom wood pieces.
Regie was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years Tina Horn, daughter Jennifer Horn, parents Harold and Ethel Horn, and brothers Mike and Bill Horn. Survivors include his children: Tammi Martin, Tondra (Dale) Lee, Alicia (Scott) Nevil, Brian Hight. Grandsons Ricky (Katherine) Sariol and Cutter Hight, Granddaughters Courtney (Nathaniel) Stubbs, Jennifer (Kory) Morgan, Victoria Bernardin, Micayla Martin, and Kimberly (Brian) Rill. His five great-grandchildren Lux, Kona, Adeline, Hosanna and Reagan. His sister Harlene (Bob) Matkovich, and sisters in law Kathy Horn, Teresa (Steve) Hubbard. Many nephews, nieces, cousins, and very dear friends. Private Service in the mountains later in the year. Burns Mortuary of Hermiston is in care of arrangements.
