Pauline M. “Polly” Van De Brake was born on December 29, 1934 in Lake Stevens, Washington to parents Charlie and Mary Stevens. She died on October 30, 2025 at her home in Stanfield, Oregon at the age of 90 years. Polly was raised and attended school in Lake Stevens, graduating from Lake Steven High School in the class of 1953. She was united in marriage to Cliff Van De Brake on February 9, 1957 in Redmond, Washington. They lived in the Seattle, Washington area until 1974 when the moved to Oregon, settling in Hermiston, Oregon in 1976. They owned and operated Van De Brake Trucking from 1977 until 2002. They moved to Stanfield, Oregon in 1996 where she has lived since. Polly was an active member of Good Shepherd Hospital Auxiliary for 22years, member of the Grange for 25 years, donated and repaired stuffed animals for: State and City Police Departments, Domestic Violence, Hermiston & Pendleton Hospitals and Fire Departments and to the Christmas Community Dinners. Polly was loved by many and will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her son: Blaine (Linda) Van De Brake; grandchildren: Kelsey (George) Gray, Brandon (Cristine) Van De Brake; honorary daughter: Sue Wilson; numerous nieces and nephews.
Polly was preceded in death by her husband: Cliff, son: Brock; grandson: Chandler; sister: Pat and brother: Paul.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. at Burns Mortuary Chapel, Hermiston, Oregon. Burial will follow at the Hermiston Cemetery, Hermiston, Oregon.
In true Polly fashion, you are encouraged to wear as much red as possible to her service.
