Norma Joyce (Jensen) Stahl
September 9, 1931 – November 25, 2024
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Norma Joyce (Jensen) Stahl, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She passed peacefully on Monday, November 25, 2024, at 9:53 a.m. at the age of 93.
Born on September 9, 1931, in a cabin near Pacific City, Oregon, to Lester and Belle Jensen, Norma was raised alongside her three sisters, Shirley Getschel, Jeanne Drayton, and Maria Baumgartner. Their close-knit family fostered in her a lifelong commitment to love, faith, and service.
Norma graduated from St. Helena Nursing School in Angwin, California, and earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Loma Linda University in Loma Linda, California. She devoted 40 years to the nursing profession, working as a med-surg nurse, in the ICU, and finally in recovery at Good Shepherd Hospital in Hermiston, Oregon. Her compassion and professionalism left a lasting impact on the countless lives she touched throughout her career.
On December 16, 1962, Norma married the love of her life, Joel Stahl. Together, they shared 62 beautiful years of marriage, raising two children, Shirlene Stahl and Anthony Stahl (Karina). She was a proud grandmother to Kristopher Stahl (Gaoyang) and Adriann Stahl (Victoria), cherishing every moment spent with her family.
Norma found joy in life’s simple pleasures, including baking, taking long walks, and reading. She was a hard worker with a warm, caring spirit, deeply loved by all who knew her.
A dedicated member of the Irrigon Seventh-day Adventist Church, Norma served faithfully and contributed to her community through initiatives such as the Family Closet. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, reflected in her kindness and generosity.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Belle Jensen, and her sisters, Shirley Getschel and Maria Baumgartner.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and unwavering faith. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at 2 p.m. to honor Norma’s remarkable life and the cherished memories she created.
