Nola "Margie" Margaret (Helzer) Gibson

Nola Margaret “Margie” Gibson was born on May 18, 1952 in San Diego, California. She died on March 6, 2020 at her home surrounded by family in Salem, Oregon at the age of 67 years. Margie lived in Oregon, Idaho, and California, where she also attended school. She worked for the State of Oregon for 19 years in the Department of Forestry, Governor’s Office, and the Economic Development Office. Margie later owned and operated a business consulting practice for several years. She married David “Gibby” Gibson on July 30, 2005 in Salem, Oregon. Margie loved all of her family beyond measure. She cherished spending time with her grandchildren and especially her 13 great grandchildren. Her laugh and smiles were contagious and could brighten any room.   Margie enjoyed traveling, going new places, and meeting new people. She never met a stranger. Her sense of humor, love, compassion, empathy, and understanding will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. 
 
Margie was preceded in death by her parents: Broyce Helzer and Nola June Martin and 2 brothers: David and Kevin Helzer.
 
She is survived by her Husband: David “Gibby” Gibson, Salem, OR; daughter: Rachael Pennington, Elk City, OK; grandchildren: Kyle Pennington Dallas, OR, Tiawna Mathers, Scio, OR, Damon Mathers, Dallas, OR, Skyler Mathers, Newport, OR; 13 great grandchildren; brothers: Dennis Helzer, Eagle Creek, OR, Chris Martin (Barb), Hermiston, OR; sisters: Teresa Pivek (Roy), Prineville, OR and Julie Thomas, Portland, OR; sister-in-law: Sharon Caldwell, Caldwell, ID; and numerous nieces and nephews.
