N. "Mama Pearl" Fletcher, 91, living with her daughter, Margie Morgan and her husband David, in Hermiston, Oregon, passed away on July 9th, 2019 after a very long struggle with Alzheimer's Disease. N. Pearl Fletcher was born on May 22, 1928 in Long Beach, California to parents, John George Wickham and Marjorie Fern Clark Wickham. At her passing, in our home, she was surrounded by Margie, David and our beloved caregiver Wendi at her bedside.
Pearl moved to Royal City, Washington in 1958, then to the tiny town of Symrna, Washington in 1966. She built her own home there in that valley, and raised her three daughters driving school bus for over a quarter of a century. Once retired, spent the next 15 years traveling to Arizona in the winter months and to Alaska to fish during those many summers of all those years. Vern used to say they were "fishin' partners"--she would fish for 'em and I'd eat 'em!"
Pearl volunteered at the Royal City Food Bank for many years. She loved gardening, could raise delicious cantaloupe and tomatoes and liked sharing all with her family and friends. Our "Mama Pearl" will be sorely missed.
She is survived by her daughters, Margie Morgan, Tanna Thornton and Bonnie Racus. Her sister, Winona Mae Brummet who lives in Yuba City, California. She is survived by multiple nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Pearl's mother Marjorie Fern Wickham, preceded her in death in 1996, and her Papa, John George Wickham died in 1981. Her brother, Wesley Lee Wickham preceded her in death in 2011. Her husband of 28 years, our very loved "Grandpa Vern" Louis Fletcher passed away in 2004.
A family gathering will be held.
