Michael Springer, of Hermiston, Oregon, passed away on May 5, 2026, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. He was 71 years old.
Michael was born on May 15, 1954, in Ashland, Oregon, to Leroy and Patricia Springer. He grew up alongside his two brothers and two sisters before the family moved to Pendleton, where he attended Pendleton High School. During his school years, Michael enjoyed wrestling and playing football.
Michael was known for his strong work ethic and dedication to his family. He worked for Fleetwood for more than 25 years before later working at Keystone. Throughout his career, he took on many different departments and roles, always willing to work hard to provide for those he loved.
Outside of work, Michael found joy in the outdoors. He loved hunting and fishing and cherished any opportunity to spend time by the river. Whether he came home with a catch or not, simply being in nature brought him peace. He also enjoyed sharing his knowledge of hunting and fishing with anyone eager to learn.
Michael had many talents and hobbies. He loved gardening, cooking and working with his hands. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to family, friends or neighbors. Known by many throughout the community, Michael never missed a chance to stop and visit with people he knew. His kindness, generosity and friendly nature left a lasting impression on everyone who met him.
Michael will be remembered as a hardworking, caring and dependable man who deeply loved family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
