It is with solemn respect that we announce the passing of Martin Edgar Neyman, who departed this life on February 2, 2025, at the age of 92. A widowed father of six, Martin lived with quiet dignity and a steadfast commitment to his family. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Marianne Neyman and he leaves behind his children Maurice, Marty, Mike, Mark, Melissa and Matthew along with his grandchilden and great grandchildren who will continue to carry forward his legacy.

Born on the 27th of August 1932 in Albion, ID to Virgil and Dorthy Neyman, Martin was the second of five children, Marion, Martin, Alta, Arlen and Alysse.

Martin’s early life was spent in Idaho until his family moved to Wrangell, AK in 1937 where he lived through completion of High School. He had many jobs through out his life, farmer, fisherman, carpenter, cobbler, and was honorably discharge from the Army at the rank of Corporal.

On May 21, 1960 Martin married Marianne Henry in Wrangell, AK. After graduating from Whitworth University Martin and family moved to Oregon where he took a job in the Hermiston school district. He would go on to spend the entirety of his career as an educator there. Teacher, Vice Principal and Principal.

Martin spent his retirement alongside his wife Marianne traveling to see their various family members and enjoying much quality time at their beach house on the Oregon coast.

Martin was a man of few words but deep convictions. He believed in the value of action over speech, and his life was a testament to the principles of duty, integrity, and stoicism. His was not a life of grand gestures, but of steady, reliable commitment to those he loved.

His passing leaves a void, but the lessons he imparted through his example will endure.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday March 1, 2025 at 12 PM at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church in Hermiston. Burial will follow in the Hermiston Cemetery.
