June Dabling Obituary

June A. Dabling of Hermiston, Oregon, was born on June 16, 1938 in Oregon City, Oregon. She died on January 2, 2025 in Hermiston, Oregon at the age of 86 years.

June met and married Ralph Dabling while working at Marlette Homes. June brought with her three children from a previous marriage, Greg, Ryan, and Deborah. Ralph came with three daughters, Sue, Sally, and Shanna who June loved as her own. Together, June and Ralph completed their family with the addition of a daughter, Katrina.

She enjoyed her family, jewelry, rock hounding, gardening, playing games.  She had a knack for refurbishing everything from her home to RVs and even wedding dresses and artificial flowers. She became very skilled in making jewelry in her later years and was very proud of beautiful pieces she produced. Despite living in assisted living for the past ten years, June maintained her spunky and fun-loving attitude. She was the head Ambassador, welcoming new residents to the facility and was the past  President of the Resident Council. She started a resident garden to get residents outside and provided fresh vegetables that the residents enjoyed through the summers. She enjoyed participating in themed dress-up days and was well-known for her signature black hair and “June-Bug” nickname.

She was very loved by many and will be forever missed.

June was preceded in death by a little sister in childhood, her mother and father, a sister Joyce Royer, and her husband Ralph.

She is survived by her children: Sue Wheeler (Dan), Sally Ivey, Greg Anderson, Ryan Anderson, Shanna Chafin (Michael), Deborah Clements (Russell) & Katrina Ward (Chris); grandchildren: Brooke Dickenson, Adrian Harris (Jen), Jordan Harris, Bret Cochran (Stacey), Reese Ivey (Amanda), Kera Ivey (Nick), Kris Paullus (Morgan), Kelly Paullus (Lita), Kory Paullus, Amber Clements (Josh), Andrew Clements (Alixx), Patrick Ward (Anika) and Taylor Ward; sister: Janet; numerous great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

A private family graveside service will be held at the Hermiston Cemetery, Hermiston, Oregon.

She loved animals and helped save many that were found and needed extra love and care to survive. In lieu of flowers please make contributions to Pet Rescue in Hermiston.
