Judith "Judy" A (Vondy) Moyer

Judith A. “Judy” Moyer of Hermiston, Oregon, was born on April 17, 1941 in Boise, Idaho to parents, Arthur Ray Moyer and Laura Jean (Vondy) Moyer. She died on October 21, 2025 in Hermiston, Oregon at the age of 84 years. Being an only child, Judy had the full attention of her parents. She was united in marriage to Douglas L. Moyer on November 2, 1958 in Emmett, Idaho. Judy spent many years showing Appaloosa horses with her husband and daughter. She was the groomer, butler, maid, navigator and organizer. She was the one who made everything fall into place. Judy was always involved in her children’s activities: showing horses, 4-H, football, baseball and track. You could always look up in the stands and see her cheering. Judy was so proud of her kids and grandkids as the pictures throughout her house indicates. She would do anything for her kids, even if we didn’t always deserve it. 
Judy was a huge animal lover, especially those needing homes. For many years she was committed to Pet Rescue. She loved and cared for each as if they were her own children until a forever home could be found. Keep in mind this could not be just any home, it had to meet her qualifications. It was a joke in our house whenever we would see a dog or cat walking or running down a street without a person with them “Go to Mrs. Moyer’s house. She will feed you and have a warm blanket ready.” She had a gift and caring heart.

Judy is survived by her son: Douglas R. Moyer, Griffin, GA; daughter: Diania Fordice (Robert), Hermiston, OR; four grandchildren: Lauren (Blake), James (Kristina), Dusty (Ashleigh) and Tyler (Dani); Five great grandchildren: Haleigh, Coleman, Benjamin, Emmarie and Hudson.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, her parents and in-laws.     

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at the Hermiston Cemetery, Hermiston, Oregon.
