Joseph C Farmer

Joseph C Farmer, Hermiston, Oregon resident, was born April 8, 1956 in Independence, Kansas to parents H. Gene and Dolores Humphrey Farmer.  He passed away on April 16, 2018 at his home in Hermiston, at the age of 62. 

Joe went to school in Hermiston and Walla Walla, Wa.  After graduating in 1975, he worked in agriculture, construction and maintenance.  His hobbies included hunting, gardening and mechanics.   In 1980,  he began caring for his grandparents, Henry Clay and Violet Humphrey. After their deaths, he spent his remaining years living on Diagonal Road in Hermiston. 

Joe became a well-known person from his daily walks, spanning a twenty-year period, into town and back and to and from the mini-mart, where he had his daily coffee and became a well-loved character.  Over the years, Joe made many friends and acquaintances.  His family would like to thank all the many people who befriended Joe, looked out for his well fare and assisted him with his daily living needs.  He will be greatly missed.

Joseph is survived by his two brothers, Raymond Farmer, Prosser, and Jeffrey Farmer, Hermiston. His uncles and aunts, H. C. and Eva Humphrey, West Richland, Jack and Charlene Humphrey Barrager, Portland and Wayne (deceased) and Phyllis Humphrey Picker, Hermiston, as well as many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, H. Gene and Dolores Humphrey Farmer, his grandparents, Henry Clay Humphrey and Violet Blumer Humphrey, and his uncle, Wayne Picker. 

There will be a celebration of Joe's life in Hermiston, Wednesday, May 2nd, 6:30 p.m. , 80514 Cowboy Lane.  Food and beverages will be provided.
