John H. Harris of Hermiston was born June 13, 1952 in Portland, Oregon the son of John and Dorothy (Lindgren) Harris. He passed away in Hermiston on Monday March 31, 2025 at the age of 72.
John lived in several areas before moving to Hermiston in 1988. He owned and operated the Caravan Restaurant in Hermiston for a few years. He later began working for Concrete Special Ties which was the beginning of his career in the concrete business. He next worked for Umatilla Ready Mix for a time before transitioning to Lafarge North America as a Territorial Sales Manager, a position he held for many years. During his work career he also made many close friendships and working relationships that he maintained well beyond his working career. After retiring from Lafarge in 2014 he continued consulting and maintaining those relationships for several additional years.
John was very outgoing, friendly and social and could strike a conversation with anybody. He was active in the community and enjoyed giving back whenever he could. He made a lot of friends and will be missed by many!
John Married Sandy Nastos on June 24, 1972 in Clearwater, Florida. Sandy preceded him in death on March 21, 2011.
He is survived by a daughter, Stephanie Harris; a grandson, Kyron Harris; and numerous friends that were dear to him.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Hermiston Midway Bar & Grill on Sunday May 18, 2025 from 1:00 - 4:00 P.M.. Burns Mortuary of Hermiston is in care of arrangements.
