Jack Lee Wetzel of Boardman was born June 9, 1942 in Ord, Nebraska the son of AJ and Donna (Cox) Wetzel. He passed away in Hermiston on December 3, 2025 at the age of 83.
Jack grew up and attended schools in Nebraska. He married Paula Wendt in Nebraska on July 19, 1969. The couple moved to Washington for a short time before settling in Boardman, Oregon in 1974. Jack worked throughout his career as a heavy equipment operator in the construction industry.
Jack enjoyed horse back riding, team roping and penning and working around his small ranch in Boardman. He was a master with his hands and built barns, panels and many other construction projects throughout the years. He also played the guitar in a band. His family was very important to him and he made it a point to attend many of their activities throughout his years.
He was preceded in death by his wife Paula on April 21, 2020; two sons, Randy and Hank Wetzel.
He is survived by his children, Phyllis Town, Pamela Moser, Patricia and husband Chad Davis and Tracy Markham-Van Pool; fourteen grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
A celebration of life gathering will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at 12:00 Noon at the family property .
