Jack Dewey Chapman of Irrigon was born March 25, 1947 in Hayward, California the son of Donald and Avis (Alberg) Chapman. He passed away in Irrigon on February 8, 2025 at the age of 77.
Jack grew up and attended schools in Niles, California. After high school, he served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. After his honorable discharge, he settled in Hamilton, Montana. He operated a well drilling business, drove truck and various other jobs in Montana. He moved to Irrigon, Oregon in 1998 where he has resided for the past twenty seven years.
Jack had a passion for muscle cars, enjoyed working on cars and going to classic car shows. He also enjoyed going fishing, camping and boating.
Jack married Bonnie Coombes in Hamilton, Montana on September 6, 1977.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; son, Jack Chapman; daughter, Dayna Abbott; four grandchildren, Tegan, Trace, Cody and Cade; two brothers, Skip Olsen and Dane Olsen; sister, Dona Scholfield; and several nieces and nephews and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by a son, Kevin and his parents.
A Memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday February 15, 2025 at the Boardman Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Burial will be in Hamilton Montana at a later time. Burns Mortuary of Hermiston is in care of arrangements.
