Helen Leatha Findley of Hermiston was born August 4, 1936 in St. Helens, Oregon the daughter of Harry and Mary (Quinn) Howard. She passed away in Hermiston on Friday April 30, 2021 at the age of 84.
Helen lived in St. Helens throughout her childhood where she attended school and graduated from high school. As an adult, she continued living in St. Helens until moving to Eastern Oregon in 1973. She resided in the communities of Stanfield, Echo and Umatilla before moving to Hermiston in 1991. She worked as a trimmer operator for Lamb Weston in Boardman for several years.
Helen married Elwyn C. Findley in Longview, WA on November 28, 1970.
Helen loved going fishing and to family gatherings. She has been a member of the Grace Baptist Church for over forty years.
She is survived by four children; Mary Forman, Paul Findley, John Findley and Coleen Jones; nine grandchildren; several great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; siblings, Betty Jones, Earl Howard, Rosemary Muldoon and Barbara Day; many nieces and nephews and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two brothers and three sisters.
A Celebration of life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday May 7, 2021 at Grace Baptist Church 555 SW 11th Street Hermiston, Oregon. A private burial was in the Hermiston Cemetery. Burns Mortuary of Hermiston is in care of arrangements.
