Harold Eddy “Ed” Taylor of Hermiston, Oregon was born on August 23, 1947 in Newport, Arkansas to parents, Harold Lloyd Taylor and Dorothy May Anderson Taylor. He died on March 26, 2026 in Portland, Oregon at the age of 78 years. Ed was raised in California, graduating from Watsonville High School in the class of 1966. He served in the United States Army in Vietnam until his honorable discharge and returned to California. Ed married Carol Patterson and they moved to Hermiston, Oregon in 1976 where they have lived since. He began his career working for Coca Cola as a delivery driver before working his way to Salesman and into management before retiring in 2011. Ed and Carol owned a corvette and belonged to the Hermiston car Club for many years and loved going to the car shows. Ed enjoyed golfing, boating, camping in their 5th wheel, fishing, cooking, Nascar and was an avid Steeler’s Fan. He had a meticulous home, yard and vehicles that he took great pride in. Ed cherished time with his family, spending as much time with his grandchildren as possible.
He is survived by his wife: Carol Taylor; daughters: Denise Dohman & her husband Glenn and Susan Bush & her husband Justin; sister: Rockie Thayer; grandsons: Kurt & (Reillee), Bryce, Steven and Colton; great grandchildren: Lily and Cornelius with Scottie Jo on the way and a niece: Deedee and nephew: Ross.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of life service with military honors will be held on Friday, April 3, 2026 at 3:00 P.M. at Burns Mortuary Chapel, Hermiston, Oregon.
