Gregory "Greg" W Brown

Gregory W. “Greg” Brown of Pendleton, Oregon, was born on November 16, 1961 in Omaha, Nebraska to parents, M. Freeman Brown and Pauline (Caldwell) Brown. He died on September 6, 2023 in Portland, Oregon at the age of 61 years. Greg attended schools in nebraska before his family moved to Pendleton, Oregon, graduating from Pendleton High School in the class of 1980. He served in the Oregon National Guard until his honorable discharge. Greg worked at the Red Lion where he met the love of his life, Marilyn Jones. They were united in marriage on April 23, 1988 in Pendleton, Oregon. He worked at Fleetwood for a short time before starting his 30+ year career at EOCI as a corrections officer. Greg was an active member of the Pendleton Church of God. He enjoyed history, reading, sudoku puzzles, writing, playing croquet, music, hot tub, Greg was an avid Husker Fan who loved His Lord Jesus and cherished as much time with his family as possible.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years: Marilyn Brown, Pendleton, OR; sons: Nathan Brown (Samantha), Slana, AK and Dakota Brown (Emily), Pendleton, OR; daughter: Lindsey Straughan (Nick), Pendleton, OR, Jason Wilson, Seattle, WA, Mindy Mudgett , Pendleton, OR, Tiffani Wilson, Kennewick, WA; brothers: Buster Brown, Omaha, NE, Sterling Brown, Irrigon, OR, Dale Brown, Claremore, OK, Paul Brown, Omaha, NE; sisters: Joy Price, Broken Arrow, OK, Lynn Dulaney, Omaha, NE, Raylene Ellis, Pendleton, OR, Susie Brown, Omaha, NE and Karen Brown Smith, Pendleton, OR; his favorite mother-in-law: June Jones; grandchildren: Adrian Brown, Slana, AK, Autumn Brown, Slana, AK, Aislyn Brown Slana, AK, Zelie Brown, Pendleton, OR, Azariah Brown, Pendleton, OR, Evangeline Brown, Springfield, OR, Tyler Mudgett, Cierra Mudgett, Cody Mudgett, Trent Reyes and Trevor Reyes, Amiyah Mudgett and Kailor Mudgett; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Greg was preceded in death by a son: Zach Brown, his parents and a brother, Carlton Brown. 

A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, September 17, 2023 at 3:00 P.M. at the Pendleton Church of God, Pendleton, Oregon.
