Garnet Irene Vermillion was born on November 21, 1961 in Carmel, California to parents, John and Frances Cambell. She passed away peacefully at her home in Stanfield, Oregon at the age of 61 years after a long battle with ALS/Lou Gehrig’s disease. She was raised in Union, Oregon and later Hermiston, graduating from Hermiston High School in the class of 1980. Garnet was united in marriage to Joe Vermillion on February 4, 1982 in Hermiston, Oregon. She has worked for Greg’s Sleep Center in Hermiston, Oregon for 30 years. Garnet was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed taking care of her family, going to the beach, trips to Las Vegas and playing solitaire.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years: Joe Vermillion, Stanfield, OR; daughters: Ruby Anderson (James), and Samantha Collins (Cody), both of Stanfield, OR; siblings: Charles Cambell (Aurora), Battle Mountain, NV, Mary Cambell, Stanfield, OR, John Cambell (Laurie), Tye Valley, OR, and James Cambell (Maggie), Hermiston, OR; grandchildren: Braedon, Sarah and River Irene on her way; numerous nieces nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Garnet was preceded in death by a daughter: Sarah Vermillion and her parents.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 12, 2023 at 1:30 P.M. at the Pleasant View Cemetery, Stanfield, Oregon.
