Frances M. “Fran” Coppinger was born on April 24, 1927 in Echo, Oregon to parents, Marion and Faye (Bertholomew) Finch. She died on January 16, 2025 at home in Stanfield, Oregon at the age of 97 years. Fran was raised and attended school in Echo, Oregon.
She married Dannie Coppinger on May 11, 1946 and lived on their ranch in Echo for many years before moving into Hermiston. She worked at the Hermiston Bowling Alley for many years and loved bowling on a league with her sisters and traveling to National Bowling Championships. She also liked gambling at casinos. She never spoke of any of her losses, only the winnings! Which included a pickup and a trip to the Kentucky Derby! Fran volunteered at the Hermiston First Christian Church Open Table and for Good Shepherd Hospital Aux..
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dannie Coppinger, sisters, Bette J. Higginbotham and Patricia J. Wahner, nephews, Darrell Higginbotham and Marion (Gus) Wahner.
She is survived by her nephew Chuck Higginbotham, and nieces Sandi Greene (Husband Gary), Sue Thompson and Shannon McDonald Arnold and numerous great nephews and nieces.
A graveside service on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at 11:00 A.M.at the Echo Cemetery, Echo, Oregon.
