Ernest M. “Ernie” Chrisman of Hermiston, Oregon, was born on June 11, 1937 in Spring Fork, Missouri to parents, Arno and Ernestine Cordes Chrisman. He died on September 27, 2022 in Boise, Idaho at the age of 85 years. Ernie was raised in Missouri, Nebraska and Wyoming before moving to Stanfield, Oregon in 1951. He attended Stanfield High School where he played basketball, football and baseball. Ernie graduated from Stanfield High School in the class of 1955. He then served in the United States Army, stationed in Germany until his honorable discharge when returned home. Ernie worked at John Walchli’s Farm until retiring in 2007. He was a member of the American Legion, Ducks Unlimited and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. Ernie enjoyed playing pinochle, hunting, fishing, watching sports and sitting in the shop visiting with family and friends.
He is survived by his sister: Marge Walchli, Hermiston, OR; brother: Raymond Chrisman and his wife Jeanette, The Dalles, OR; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ernie was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, John Walchli.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at 10:30 A.M. at the Hermiston Cemetery, Hermiston, Oregon.
