Elnora J (Rash) Panages

Elnora Josephine Panages was born about 10 miles east of Clatskanie Oregon on December 24 1930. Elnora's parents were Harold L Rash and Mabel G Rash (Trotter). Her younger brother Darrell, was born there as well. Her sister Dorothy was born in Pendleton Oregon while they were living in Cayuse near the Umatilla Indian reservation. Youngest sister Diane was born in Hermiston Oregon. 
Elnora graduated Hermiston High School and was married to Theadore (Ted)G. Panages. They were wed December 26, 1949. Ted and Ellie lived at the Umatilla army depot residences while Ted worked at the Umatilla army depot.
Ted and Ellie adopted daughter Michele in 1961 and son Shawn in 1965 after moving to Portland Oregon before moving back to the Hermiston area. They moved to the Treasure valley of Idaho to Eagle then Wilder. Attended the Church of Christ in Payette and Caldwell where they met many of their longtime friends. Property purchased near Warren Idaho outside McCall was where Ellie seemed at her happiest. She loved reading, collecting rocks... a lot of rocks and driftwood. Loved listening to country music singing and humming along joyfully. Along with the late-night card games and friendship with the Amicks. 
Elnora and all her family aided in the daily operations of her father's dairy in Boardman where they moved to in the early 70's. They lived here after the dairy was sold both working at the U and I potato plant. In the mid to late 80's they moved back to Wilder then Caldwell where Elnora worked at the local hospital where she retired from. Ted passed in 2006. Elnora remained in Caldwell until 2015 when she moved back to Hermiston to live with her daughter Michele for her remaining years.
She will always be remembered and loved as Daughter, Sister, Wife, Friend and Mom!
Service to be held on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at the Riverview Cemetery Boardman, Oregon, approximately ½ mile east from main street on Columbia Avenue NE.
