Edwin R. Stevens

Edwin R. Stevens, Jr. of Hermiston was born February 5, 1937 in Memphis, TN the son of Edwin and Mildred (Blankenbaker) Stevens. He passed away in Hermiston on April 28, 2026 at the age of 89.

Edwin grew up and attended schools in Memphis, TN where he graduated from high school. He then attended college in the Memphis area where he completed his Bachelor’s degree. He later moved to Wenatchee, WA. He worked as a teacher in Cooley City, WA for several years. He then moved to Hermiston, OR and worked for the Umatilla Army Depot. He then drove school bus and care-o-van for the hospital in Hermiston.

Edwin enjoyed traveling, RVing to Alaska, Square Dancing and watching TV.

He is survived by his wife, Loretta “Lori; son, Edwin Stevens III; daughter Elizabeth Labar; grandchildren, Justin and Connor; brother, Bob Stevens; and several nieces and nephews and extended family members.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at the family home on Saturday May 16, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. Burns Mortuary of Hermiston is in care of arrangements.
