Dorothy M (Anderson) Foster

Dorothy M. Foster of Hermiston, Oregon, was born on May 30, 1926 in Newport, Arkansas to parents, Alfred and Ethel Graves Anderson. She died on August 22, 2023 in Hermiston, Oregon at the age of 97 years. Dorothy was raised in Arkansas with her 11 siblings. She married Harold Lloyd Taylor in 1946 and they had 2 children, Harold “Ed” and Rockie. Dorothy moved to California in 1951 and worked as a school cook/baker for many years. She moved to Boardman, Oregon in 1985 and lived there for several years before moving to Hermiston, Oregon. Dorothy enjoyed baking, cooking, quilting, hymns, playing piano, singing, gardening and being involved in her church.

She is survived by her son: Ed Taylor & wife Carol; daughter: Rockie Thayer; grandchildren: Denise Dohman & Glenn, Susan Bush & Justin, Deidra Jaskowski & Paul, Ross Thayer & Christine; 7 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband: Harold Taylor, her parents, a son-in-law: Roger Thayer and her siblings.    

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. at the Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, 125 E. Beech, Hermiston, Oregon.
