Donna Jean Arroyo (Britain) passed away on July 27, 2025, at the age of 77 due to complications of esophageal cancer. Donna was born in Pendleton, Oregon on February 7th, 1948, to Eugene and Betty Britain. She was later joined by her brothers Michael (Mike) and Gerald (Jerry). As a young girl, Donna enjoyed spending time outdoors with her parents, brothers and cousins. She also especially loved spending time with her paternal grandmother. In her teen years she especially enjoyed listening to music and traveling to attend concerts, such as the Beatles and Herman’s Hermits.
Donna graduated from Pendleton High School in 1966. Later, she attended Blue Mountain Community College. Throughout her life, she had various jobs, but she always enjoyed jobs where she was helping others. She often talked about her favorite being the years she spent as a preschool teacher for Head Start.
Donna is survived by children Lori Britain, Bobby Marshall, Glenda Marshall, Frank Arroyo; grandchildren Hannah Britain-Jones, Benjamin Britain-Jones, Peyton Marshall, Noah Arroyo and Henry Arroyo; and great grandson Ireland Britain-Jones. She is also survived by her brother Jerry and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members, including friends who became family. She is proceeded in death by her parents and brother Mike.
Donna enjoyed spending time treasure hunting at garage sales. She collected various things, and one of her last wishes was that her vast earring collection be shared amongst those she loved. She also liked to get together with her friends to play cards or just visit. In her later years, she doted on her grandchildren (and great-grandson) and was always happiest when spending time with them.
At Donna’s request, no formal funeral service will be held. Instead, the family will gather for an informal graveside internment service on Tuesday, August 26th at 1:00 at Olney Cemetery. This will be directly followed by a Celebration of Life potluck picnic at Community Park (East) in Pendleton.
