Dennis J Rogers Sr

Dennis Jay Rogers l was born on November 11, 1951 in Heppner Oregon to parents Charlotte and Clarence Rogers. He had an older brother, Norman Rogers.

Soon after, the Rogers family moved to Hermiston which remained Dennis’ home throughout his life. As a kid Dennis had many great friends in his neighborhood. His group of friends were called the Ridgeway gang and he enjoyed reminiscing, telling great stories from his childhood years.  

Dennis had a great love for music and played in traveling bands across the United States for over 35 years. In addition to his work in music, he enjoyed working with people and held positions in customer service and sales including working two years at Jimmy’s Flower Shop and twenty-two years at Ron’s Sew n Vac. After his time working at Ron’s Sew n Vac, Dennis opened his own shop “Dennis’ Vacuum” providing sales and services for 14 years until he retired. He loved visiting with all the customers. Dennis shared love for all people, had many friends.

In 1970 Dennis was married to Dona Withers and they shared their first child, Dennis Jay Rogers ll, later that year. In 1974 he married Kathy Dawson and had son Joseph Leroy Rogers. He married Tamera Helfer in 1987 and had their daughter, Alicia Mae Rogers. He helped raise his step son Michael Gregerson and loved him like his own.

Dennis was a devoted family man; always heavily involved with all his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He always made a huge effort to go to all their activities and support them in all they did. They loved their grandpa.

Dennis was always full of great stories, jokes and had the best sense of humor.

Dennis passed away August 27th 2020. He is now with his parents in heaven whom he loved so very much.

He is survived by his Brother Norman and sister in law Joanne Rogers, sons Dennis Rogers ll, Joey and daughter in law Rozlyn Rogers, daughter Alicia Rogers,

Grandchildren Nicole and husband Marcus , Dennis lll and wife Keirsten , Harley,

Isabella, Lilly, Griffin, and Genevieve. Great grandchildren Addisyn, Haidyn, Prestyn, and Archer. He also had nieces and nephews he loved dearly.

“We will love and miss you every day! Thank you for being the best dad, grandparent and great grandparent to us. We will continue to make you proud each and every day. We will all see each other again one day. Rest in Peace❤️”

Burial will be at a later date in the Hermiston Cemetery, Hermiston, Oregon.
