Dennis R Mock

Dennis R. Mock, of Hermiston, Oregon, was born on July 30, 1947 in Watsonville, California to parents, Russell and Faye (Caudill) Mock. He died on June 9, 2025 in Boise, Idaho at the age of 77. Dennis was raised and attended school in Watsonville, California. In his early years he served as a reserve police officer and attended college. Dennis was united in marriage to Sharon Ward on May 9, 1970 in Watsonville, California. They moved to Hermiston, Oregon and Dennis went to work for Lamb Weston in the maintenance department. He later became a journeyman electrician and continued with Lamb Weston until retiring in 2013. He taught Hunters Safety Classes for 25 years where he shared his knowledge and love for the outdoors with thousands of youngsters. Dennis was lifetime a member of the Hermiston Classics Car Club and Northeast Bowhunters.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years: Sharon Mock, Hermiston, OR; daughters: Jeanne Steffey & husband Stephen, Hermiston, OR; Lori Davis & husband Joe, Stanfield, OR; son: Douglas Elliott & wife Kim, CA; Jason Calhoun & wife Maria, CA and John Calhoun, Umatilla, OR; grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Karissa, Devin, Braden, Jarett, Olivia & Samantha; great grandchildren: Finley, Oakley & Embyr and several cousins.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Kathy Calhoun & brother-in-law, Jack Calhoun.      

A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 13, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. at the Hermiston Cemetery, Hermiston, Oregon.
