David John Van Schoiack, Jr. of Hermiston was born January 12, 1970 in Pendleton, Oregon the son of David Sr. and Joyce (Huxoll) Van Schoiack. He passed away near Boardman on February 16, 2019 at the age of 49.
David attended grade school in Stanfield and high school at Sherman County High School near Moro, graduating in the class of 1988. After high school, he moved to Hermiston where he has resided since. Soon after moving to Hermiston he met Catherine “Cathy” Eddy. David and Cathy were united in marriage on June 12, 1992 in Lewiston, Idaho.
David worked for the Oregon Dept. of Fish and Wildlife for several years. Next, he worked for Lamb Weston in Boardman for twenty three years. He currently was a security officer for Rover Security.
David loved spending time with his family especially his four children. He enjoyed family trips to the ocean, being in the outdoors, playing video games and reading. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends!
He is survived by his wife of twenty six years, Cathy; children, David John III, Dennis, Alexander and Lilyanna; mother, Joyce Lear; stepmother, Rogenia Van Schoiack; sister, Tammy Van Schoiack-Howell; brother, Dennis Mutton; step siblings, Michelle Hyde and Michael Hyde; and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday March 9, 2019 at the Hermiston Assembly of God Church (730 E. Hurlburt Avenue Hermiston, OR). A potluck will follow the service in the church fellowship hall. Burns Mortuary of Hermiston is in care of final arrangements.
