Dan Aiken Obituary

Dan Aiken, 73, passed to be with the Lord on April 12, 2022 at his home in Echo. He was born June 11, 1948 in Pendleton, Oregon the son of James and Louise Aiken.

Dan graduated from Hermiston High School in the Class of 1968. He then served in the US Army for ten years during the Vietnam War. While serving in Vietnam, he was wounded and was awarded the purple heart. After his honorable discharge, he returned to Eastern Oregon where he worked at the Umatilla Army Depot as an equipment manager. He retired from the depot in 2003.

Dan enjoyed action movies, gardening and growing grapes. He attended Crossroads Community Church in Stanfield where he served as Deacon, taught Sunday School and was a Royal Ranger Commander for several years. He was a kind, hard working and outgoing man. He had a lifelong dream of being a farmer.

Dan married Kristine Malarchick on September 13, 1971.

He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Kristine; daughter, Tara Aiken; son, Sean Aiken; grandson, Robert Aiken; brothers, Charles, Dennis and Stephen Aiken. He will be loved and missed.

A Memorial Service will be held at Noon on Sunday April 24, 2022 at the Crossroads Community Church 350 Sherman St. Stanfield, OR 7875. Burns Mortuary of Hermiston is in care of arrangements.
