Christian Carl Rasmussen April 28, 1953 - March 26, 2026 Christian Carl Rasmussen, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to many, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was 72 years old. Born on April 28, 1953, in the charming town of Walla Walla, Washington, Chris's life was a testament to love, dedication, and service.
Chris was the son of Jorgen and Mary Rasmussen, who, along with his brothers Ronald and David, and sister Kathy, preceded him in death. He is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Jeanie (White) Rasmussen, whom he married on October 14, 1977. They raised five wonderful daughters: Trixie (Chad), Sarah (Dax), Anna (Dave), Desiree, and Heather (Todd). His legacy of love extends to his 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy to his life. He is also survived by his sister, Karen Welch.
After graduating from Walla Walla High School in 1971, He proudly served his country in the US Navy from 1972 to 1975, embodying the virtues of courage and patriotism. Professionally, Chris dedicated his career to the railroad, working as an engineer driving trains yet his talents knew no bounds. He was a soldier, mechanic, carpenter, farmer, roofer, plumber, and a respected board member. Chris was a man who never saw a challenge he couldn't overcome. His hands, worn by years of hard work, were a testament to his life's labor and love for providing. An active member of the Church of Jesus Christ, Chris's faith was the cornerstone of his life. He was always eager to lend a helping hand and share his unwavering belief in the gospel, often reminding those around him with his famous line, "The gospel's true."
His life was a reflection of his faith, full of selfless acts of kindness and generosity, always putting others before himself. He was a man who couldn't sit still, always seeking ways to be useful to others. His generosity of time and spirit was unparalleled, always ensuring his family was taken care of, and his community was supported. His passing leaves a void that can never be filled, but his legacy of love, faith, and service will continue to inspire all who knew him.
