Billy W Day Sr.

Billy W. Day Sr. of Hermiston, Oregon, was born on September 25, 1950 in Hillsboro, Oregon to parents, Don and Thelma (Barnett) Day. He died on April 19, 2023 in Richland, Washington at the age of 72 years. Billy was raised in the Willamette Valley and later in Hermiston, Oregon, graduating from Hermiston High School in 1969. He went to work for the Union Pacific Railroad in 1970. Billy married Beverly Spearman on July 17, 1971 in Hermiston, Oregon and their union was sealed on July 11, 1978 in the Idaho Falls Temple. He retired in 2010 as a carman after 40 years of service. Billy was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served in many different callings. He enjoyed hunting, camping, hiking, family reunions and vacations to the Mountains or the coast. Billy cherished time with his family and the opportunity to serve others. 

He is survived by his wife: Beverly Day, Hermiston, OR; mother-in-law: June Spearman, Hermiston, OR; sons: Billy Day Jr, Hermiston, OR, , Joseph (Lisa) Day, Hermiston, OR, Michael (Tiffany) Day, Stanfield, OR & Kevin Day, Hermiston, OR; daughters: Amy (Shawn) Ware, Hermiston, OR & Alisa (Ryan) Eggen, Brookings, SD; sister: Judy (Jeff) Tobin, Baker City, OR; grandchildren: Jeffery, Mariah, Makayla, Kinley, Austin, Katelynn, Andrea, Trysten, Brooklynn, Elijah, Haiden, Ethan, Kailey, Weston & Bentley; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. 

He was preceded in death by a daughter: Katie (Day) Neely, his parents a brother: Bobby Day and a sister: Peggy Brabham. 

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1035 SE 9th St., Hermiston, Oregon.

Burial will follow at the Hermiston Cemetery, Hermiston, Oregon.
