Betty Jeane Mattison

Betty Mattison was born January 16, 1930, on the kitchen table at her home in Hillsdale, a small community south of Portland Oregon. She was an only child that grew up independent.  She loved roller skating, riding her scooter, and hanging around with her dad who drove truck.  

She married Varian 'Matt' Mattison in 1946, they had four children, which gave her twelve grandchildren, twenty-eight great grandchildren, and six great, great grandchildren. When her children were in school, she worked as a baker in the cafeteria. Her love for her grandkids was always apparent, whether they were living with them or just visiting.

 Growing up in the city she learned poise and etiquette.  Her husband moved her to the country which gave here strength and patience. She will always be remembered for her faith in God and her sense of humor. 

Betty went to her savior Oct 2, 2020. She is preceded in death by her husband, grand-daughter Jeaney, her son Gordan and his wife Barbara. Her oldest son Lonnie passed away May 30th, 2021.  

A memorial service for the four family members that have passed away in the last 18 months will be held at the Irrigon Cemetery on July 8th, 2021, 10am.  Afterwards everyone is invited to gather for memories and a meal at 315 NE Oregon Ave, Irrigon.
