Albert "Bud" Smith

Albert V. “Bud” Smith of Hermiston was born May 7, 1931 in Cement, Oklahoma the son of Bennie and Margaret Smith. He passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 5, 2023 at his home in Hermiston.

Bud spent 20 years in the US Navy and upon his retirement he moved to Hermiston. He married Marilyn on February 24, 1968. She preceded him in death in 2020.

After his retirement, Bud owned and operated the Shoe Cobbler for a period of time and later built several houses and sold them.

He is survived by a sister, Juanita of Tracy, CA; daughter, Sheri (Terry) Haight; sons, Larry (Heather) Smith, Jerry (Julie) Smith and Terry (Vienay) Smith; daughter, Kari (Richard) Faubion; 15 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He also leaves behind a sister-in-law, Margaret Hempe and husband Tony.

A Memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday November 25, 2023 at the Umatilla Assembly of God Church (719 L Street Umatilla, OR 97882). A private burial will be in the Hermiston Cemetery. Burns Mortuary of Hermiston is in care of arrangements.
