Willard "Bill" Runion Obituary

Willard “Bill” Runion of Hermiston, Oregon, was born on July 11, 1927 in Fostoria, Ohio to parents, Carl and Blanche Rothgeb Runion. He died on August 7, 2019 in Kennewick, Washington at the age of 92 years. Bill was raised and attended school in Ohio before joining the United States Army  After his honorable discharge in 1946 he lived in Olympia, Washington where he married Yvonne Bosteder in 1959. They moved to Umatilla, Oregon in 1974 and Bill worked in farming as an equipment operator until retiring. He enjoyed traveling, visiting with and helping others. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 37 and was recognized in 2016 by the United States Deputy Sheriff’s Association as the Oregon Law Enforcement Supporter of the Year.

He is survived by his son: Clyde Runion & wife Tonya, Pendleton, OR; daughter: Valerie Hurford, Umatilla, OR; grandchildren: Elizabeth, Destiny, Chelsea, Charline, Cody, KaSandra & Courtnie; great grandchildren: Xavier & Isabella.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife: Yvonne Runion and his parents.      

A graveside military funeral service will be held on Monday, August 12, 2019 at 5:00 P.M. at the Hermiston Cemetery, Hermiston, Oregon.
