Sherrie Fry Obituary

Sherrie Lynn (Hollingsworth) Fry was born on March 2, 1949 in Ontario, Oregon to parents, Kenneth and Lois (Jensen) Hollingsworth. She died on June 11, 2019 at her home in Umatilla, Oregon at the age of 70.  Sherrie was raised in New Plymouth, Idaho and graduated from Parma High School in 1967. She then attended Kinman Business School in Spokane, Washington. Sherrie was united in marriage to Francis “Frank” Fry on January 6, 1973 in Parma, Idaho. They moved to Umatilla, Oregon in 1979. Sherrie started working for the Hermiston School District and had various positions in the district.  She started at West Park Elementary in 1983 and in 1992 became the school secretary, a position that she held until retiring in 2007. She was extremely dedicated to the students, staff and parents throughout her 28 year career. Sherrie enjoyed reading, volunteer work, watching movies, and cherished time with her granddaughters.

Sherrie is survived by her husband of 46 years: Frank Fry, Umatilla, OR; daughter: Shauna Church & her husband Jake of Zillah, WA and 2 granddaughters; Brenna and Ashtyn.  Sherrie also has several beloved cousins.

Sherrie was preceded in death by her parents.

At her request there will be no service.

A private burial will be at the Hermiston Cemetery, Hermiston, Oregon.
