Roberta ‘Bert’ Anne Chivington, 68, of Boardman died Friday, Aug. 25, 2017, in Kennewick, Wash.
She was born Aug. 15, 1949, in Kadoka, S.D. to Benjamin Richard Pourier and Hazel Amy (Rooks) Pourier.
Roberta came to Eastern Oregon as a child with her family and built a life surrounded by love, strength, and happiness. She had two children Tina and James and married the love of her life Jack Chivington.
She lived in Boardman, Oregon where she raised her children and grandchildren. She worked at the Dodge City for many years and loved traveling especially to the mountains and ocean.
Bert was known for being incredibly resilient and never backing down from anything in her path. She spent the last 9 years battling cancers and other health problems but knew that she would put up a fight while she still had the strength within.
Roberta spent her life caring for people and leading by example. She is survived by her husband Jack Chivington. Her children Tina Lango and James Murray. Her grandchildren Amy, Candice, Taylor, Vizta, Holden, and Shane. Her great-granddaughter Kylie. Her siblings Elanor, Maynard, Brenda, Marilyn, and Nora.
A private burial will be held at the Desert Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Irrigon.
